Nico Rikken
I'm an engineer interested in innovation and good design. I care a lot about control over technology. As such I use and contribute to free software and open content. Public speaking, event photography and writing articles are some of the ways I contribute to their communities. I do this both in my work at grid operator Alliander and in my various volunteer roles.
Job roles
- Technical Solution Lead at Alliander
- Open Source Ambassador at Open Source Program Office (OSPO) of Alliander
- Organiser of FOSDEM Energy Devroom
Volunteer roles
- Country Coordinator for the Free Software Founation Europe (FSFE)
- Maintainer of Ada Zangemann children's book automation
- Organiser of T-DOSE conference
- Maintainer of Dutch translation of Rapid Photo Downloader
Besides these roles I contribute to various communities from time to time. Some of my online profiles are linked in the contact page.
Presentations and photography
I frequently give presentations at conferences. See the talks page with upcoming and past presentations.
In the docs section you can find useful information I compiled, for example about my photography hobby.
